Early childhood learning is about taking the time to explore but also to start thinking about getting into healthy routines and habits that support amazing mental and physical health like singing, dancing and making music with others! MUSIC TOGETHER!
We offer $25 sample drop-ins to allow parents a sample of the music, the teachers, the structure, the locations to see how grownups resonate but, children need more than just 1 class to get comfy. 2 months is required to join any class so that we work with children to integrate into our routines and give them a chance to grow into a weekly practice.
Our goal will always be to have you stay with it from birth to 5 so that children stay musically engaged throughout early childhood.
Drop in sample class fee is $25 per family - with a max of 2 drop ins allowed per season in case you want to try a different location or different teacher. (after 2 samples, we require 2 mos. commitment).
Drop-ins are based on availability. Drop-ins are neither required nor guaranteed. If there are none available, we recommend enrolling and committing to embracing the learning experience with your child for the 2 mos minimum period. A few ways we encourage parents to be ready is to read the research on the value of music and movement in early childhood. In research-based music education everything is done with loving intention toward growing musically in a way that is developmentally appropriate for all the ages and stages of early childhood up through age 5. Returning each week and practicing music and movement activities with your child is a learning process that takes time and repetition. It's playful, consistent, FUN with tons of singing, dancing, playing instruments and making friends. We offer growth for everyone not just the kids! We offer parents, caregivers and children musical growth through the weekly practice of singing, dancing, and playing with music. So, a drop in sample is ok, but it's much better to do the research on how valuable this is and then jump right in experience the benefits for yourself.
But.....
"What if my child won't sit in the circle?"
The picturesque scene you may be thinking of, where all the babies and toddlers and preschoolers are all sitting calmly in the circle with eyes rapt on the teacher is 1 freeze frame moment but it probably only lasted a few seconds before several kiddos (esp new walkers and toddlers) hopped up and started wandering around. Children love being up and wandering around, exploring, experiencing everything with all the senses. Children feel safe and comfortable doing this in our classes and they learn and grow over time and gain skills like regulating bodies, cooperating socially like with putting away instruments, and being able to sit for longer periods. It takes TIME and REPETITION for them to learn these pro-social cooperative skills as well as to learning to sing in tune and keep accurate rhythm. Children come here to learn these social skills along WITH the process of learning music. This is a safe space for all ages and stages of early childhood!
